Osman has been a debt capital adviser in the banking and development industry for over 23 years – 10 years at UBS and 13 years as an independent adviser. His career started with seven years at John Charcol, who were repeatedly award winners during his period there. In 2006 he joined UBS Wealth Management to focus on arranging lending for their HNW and UHNW clients, covering predominantly non-UK residents and complex UK borrowers. In 2009 Osman took over running the mortgage desk in the UK. Under Osman’s leadership, the desk grew from two to a team of twelve. UBS went on to become the 13th largest lender in the UK, according to Council of Mortgage lenders data in 2012 and 2013; which is unprecedented for a private bank. This mortgage desk won the much-coveted prize of Best Private Bank at the industry Mortgage Strategy awards in 2013. The judges recognized the mortgage desk for the complexity of the deals they worked on and for the high level of service, the desk provided. After ten years of handling some of the most complex mortgage deals the London market has seen, Osman left UBS to become independent and then founded Mountview Capital in early 2018. His focus at Mountview is on continuing technical expertise and deep access to the market, whilst building a strong team of advisers who support each other in closing finance deals for clients.
